There is more information on how ஓடி விளையாடு பாப்பா works on our ‘About us’ page, but here is the detailed version…
OVP, as we like to call it has been our centre of focus since the very beginning. It has helped thousands of young children overcome the fear of learning and language as complex as Tamil and to master the art of being a Tamil pundit. Children who have been with us for over 15 years have now become OVP leaders and some are in charge of various areas of our media business.
We provide structured learning in Tamil through audio education which is absolutely free. All the Child has to do is write into the show on a weekly topic. These articles can include thoughts for the day, drawings, poetry and if you like audio clips. Once the articles have been read a review is done live on air to encourage the child and to gently correct any spelling mistakes. The writer is then requested to call in (if Available during live time) to have a one-to-one chat with the presenter about their article and the thoughts that were behind their writing. If you’ve ever worked with Children I’m sure you’ll know how entertaining this can be.
Our OVP children are constantly challenged to think out of the box and we try to enable them to reach their full potential.
So why do we do it?
When Our Director, Mohan Anna (as we call him) had his first child- he was petrified! He did not know anything about raising a child. That is when he decided to raise not one child but a community of children to be able to come together as a family on a public platform and battle out the rights and wrongs of child rearing. To him instilling values of language, encompassing your maximum abilities, servitude, honesty and openness were the base by which he wanted his daughter to grow up in and to provide that OVP was initiated
OVP is broken down into
- OVP Partners (18 Yrs and Above)
- OVP Leaders (16 Yrs- 18 Yrs)
- OVP Co-Leaders(14Yrs- 16 Yrs)
- OVP Acheivers (12Yrs-14 Yrs)
- OVP Runners (Under 12)
- OVP Members
- New OVP
To join all you have to do is send in an article on the current weekly topic which is displayed on our home page. This can be done via e-mail (scanned and sent) fax or post. All articles must be written by the child and must include their name, age, country and the serial number of the article that is being sent in (So if it’s your first one, you would add ஆக்கம் ஒன்று) It is not necessary that the Child must be able to speak Tamil- they can start in the language they are taught in school and then slowly they will be given the opportunity to pick up Tamil. Our presenters are fluent in German, French, English, Hindi, Sinhalese and Dutch and I’m sure we can accommodate other languages as well.
It’s very simple and it’s a lot of fun. If you’d like to learn a new language – Join OVP Today!
